I love to teach the Word of God and see the lights go on when God reveals truth to them. Along with that it is tremendously exciting when they act on that Word and see change and transformation in their lives. I am so grateful for all God has revealed to me and His grace that has helped me put that Word into practice and see His power operate in my life. I am hungry for more of Him and am thankful He has made us the Body of Christ distinguished – Separation, known by a mark of difference or by different, superior or extraordinary qualities – now we must learn how to live like who we are In Christ.

Moses makes an amazing statement in Ex 33:16 asking God “what will separate or distinguish us, Your people, from all the other people of the earth but the fact that You are with us.” The sad truth is a lot of Christians have God living in them but nobody knows it because they act and talk like the world. The Holy Spirit said it this way through the apostle Paul in 1 Cor 3:1-3 Amp. “I could not talk to you as to spiritual [men], but as to nonspiritual [men of the flesh, in whom the carnal nature predominates], as to mere infants [in the new life] in Christ [unable to talk yet!] … For you are still [unspiritual, having the nature] of the flesh [under the control of ordinary impulses]… behaving yourselves after a human standard and like mere (unchanged) men?”
There is supposed to be a difference between us, the saints, the children of God and the world, the children of the devil. We are to be
light in a dark world as Philippians 2:15 states “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” We are to be separate, different, distinguished from the rest of the world. God calls this holiness.
A man or woman or young person who walks in holiness is a distinguished individual. One who is separated and is known by their different qualities. In Christ Jesus we have been made superior and extraordinary in every area of life. In John 10:10 Jesus said it this way – I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly. The phrase more abundantly in the Greek can also be translated as excessively, beyond measure and superior in quality. God’s will for us is NOT to be normal, average and ordinary BUT to be distinguished.

I believe we are created to increase our influence to fulfill our purpose. As a good manager I could steer the ship, but recognized through exposure to John Maxwell that my ability to chart the course was hindered by my lack of leadership skills.
Therefore, I became persuaded by something John said, “The higher you want to climb, the more you need leadership. The greater the impact you want to make, the greater your influence needs to be. Whatever you will accomplish is restricted by your ability to lead others.”
My journey of personal development has taken me from wishing things were better – to making things better. I have experienced these laws of leadership, growth and influence working as a pastor, in sales and customer service, as a previous TV host of “Faith for Today” and as an author.
I joined the John Maxwell Team to help me go to another level in training and developing leaders in my church. I wanted to provide the opportunities for my volunteers to develop themselves and increase their influence – which would impact not only their service at the church but in their marriages, families, businesses and jobs.
I also wanted to take these leadership principles out into the marketplace to help churches, ministries and individuals increase their value and achieve more success in their lives.
Everything rises and falls on leadership – Leadership is influence nothing more, nothing less – We increase our influence by adding value to others
